Ocean Club Resort has a luxurious, yet laid-back atmosphere making for an ultimate Turks and Caicos experience. Escape crowded resorts and embrace the Caribbean culture at one of the best resorts on the island.

The Hotel

Situated on the famous Grace Bay Beach on Providenciales island, Ocean Club Resort is in the perfect location any and all activities on the island. This deluxe beachfront property is easily accessible and after a surprisingly brief flight from Miami (just a little over 1 hour) you’ll be sinking your toes in the sand.

The hotel itself offers a notably superior staff, turquoise water right out front, beautiful pools and lush tropical gardens. Their signature pink beach umbrellas against the sugary-white sand really do put the finishing touches on this gorgeous resort.

Its neighboring sister-resort  — Ocean Club West — also caters to families, boasting adventure activities for kids and babysitting services. While at Ocean Club Resort, you can also enjoy access to many of Ocean Club West’s amenities, including gym facilities, pools, beaches, and restaurants.

Concerned about aftermath of this year’s hurricane season? No need — the hotel property is in pristine condition. Drink in the gorgeous surroundings worry-free!

The Rooms

Screens enclose an awesome wrap around porch, keeping bugs and critters out and giving the entire condo a feeling of being outdoors. I left my sliding glass door open at all times – day and night — and I didn’t need to use the air conditioning once. This open-air setting lets you take full advantage of your surroundings and enjoy the fresh air 24/7.

Along with expected hotel amenities, each condominium-style suite has its own unique island-influenced interior design as well as a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. They even provide laundry detergent which I greatly appreciated after a horseback riding excursion in the ocean (which I highly recommend doing while visiting the island).

Both properties allow you to choose from several suite categories; take your pick of oceanfront views, garden views, or a view of the pool. No matter which option you choose, you’re never more than a short walk away from the beach.

The Restaurants

The Ocean Club’s three restaurants offer the delicious island food you’re likely to anticipate and expect of a Caribbean vacation. The Cabana Bar & Grill is right off the beach, while fine-dining at Opus and sushi at Solana Bar & Lounge can be enjoyed in an open-air, outdoor setting.

I’d highly recommend purchasing the resort’s add-on meal plan that offers three days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu options offer enough variety that you won’t get tired of dining at the resort, even for a week-long trip.

Tip: Restaurants — including those off the resort and elsewhere on the island — will automatically add a service fee to your bill, which is divided between the government and the establishment’s staff. This service fee can vary between 5% to 15%, so you may want to take the fee amount into consideration and tip your server accordingly (i.e. the lower the service fee, the more you should tip and vice versa).

Activities

Despite the relaxed setting, there’s an abundance things to at Ocean Club Resort and nearby.

First and foremost, you absolutely must treat yourself to a massage; the resort’s massage therapist is highly knowledgeable and even gave me stretches to do. The mix of Thai and deep tissue techniques used was incredible.

Lounge on refined beaches, snorkel or dive the islands’ coral reefs, go horseback riding on the beach with Provo Ponies, or grab one of the hotel’s complimentary bikes and adventure on your own. There’s even cycle tours that will take you around the island. I should note that the hotel staff will gladly help plan any excursions you might want to go on, even as far as setting up arrangements for a rental car if you find the need for one.

If you want to venture off the grounds, I’d recommend trying the Thursday Fish Fry just a short 10 minutes drive west. Turks and Caicos is known for their unique food, and the Fish Fry is no exception — try everything from fish fillet and lobster to jerk pork! You’ll also get the chance to enjoy local art, live bands and purchase souvenirs.

Of course you’ll find plenty of watersport opportunities, including kiteboarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, and even windsurfing available. If you’re visiting near the full moon, I highly recommend taking a Bioluminescent Tour with Sun Charters for an experience you will never forget!

You can make your stay at Ocean Club as adventurous or tranquil as you’d like, essentially making it a universally enticing vacation spot.
