6 Day Adventure Itinerary to Maui, Hawaii

6 Day Adventure Itinerary to Maui, Hawaii

We are thrilled to work with the Maui Visitors Bureau on a six day adventure trip to explore and share with you all that this beautiful island has to offer. From surfing to paragliding to helicopter tours to romantic sunset cruises, we will be reporting back with a large list of Maui highlights that will help you when planning your next trip here!

(Note: read our tips on how to travel Maui on a budget.)

Surfing & Cliff Diving Ceremony in Maui

Upon arrival, we check into the stunning Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa in Lahaina. No rest for us though, because we immediately head to a two hour surf session with Maui Wave Riders.

One thing that Scott and I argue about when heading out to surf is who will take one for the team and shoot photos or video of the other person. Yes, we have a GoPro, but it’s not always the most flattering shots when the camera is mounted to the front of your board. So this surf session is going to be epic with our own photographer in the water!

After we tire ourselves out from surfing, it’s time to head back to the hotel for a Cliff Diving Ceremony and Dinner at Black Rock Steak and Seafood.

Snuba, Snorkeling & SUP in Maui

During this trip, we will be swimming with the fish and turtles by snorkeling and my personal favorite, Snuba. Just in case you have never heard of Snuba, it’s the perfect opportunity for those people who love to be underwater, but don’t have their scuba certification. I’ve done Snuba in Aruba and Cozumel and it’s one of my favorite experiences.

Stand up paddleboarding (or SUP) is also a great way to explore the underwater world without even getting wet. I never thought I would like SUP until our trip to Catalina Island. It’s in intense workout and another way to explore the beauty of the ocean.

Sunset Sail and Sunset Dinner Cruise in Maui

Our trip to Maui is not all about adventure activities. We saved some time for a little romance. We’re preparing for a romantic evening with dinner and beautiful views aboard a catamaran with Gemini Charters and a sunset dinner cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation. We hope to capture a few of those enchanting sunsets Hawaii is known for.

Paragliding, Ziplining & Helicopter Tour in Maui

Halfway through our trip, we will make our way south and get a chance to explore another area of the island. We are staying at the Grand Wailea with an ocean view. After a little relaxation, it will be time for us to face our fear of heights on our very first paragliding flight with Proflyght Paragliding.

We will get our second chance to see Maui from the air on a ziplining tour with Kapalua Adventures. This is our third time trying ziplining, but it never gets old, especially with beautiful scenery below.

Even though Scott has his helicopter pilot’s license, I have only been in a helicopter once in my life! Flying over Maui in a helicopter with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is probably the thing I am looking forward to the most this trip. We will be able to see places that are unreachable by foot and this is truly an experience of a lifetime. The photographer in me is dying to take a zillion photos. I just wish I had four hands so I could take photos with two cameras at once.

Exploring Paia

It’s been over ten years since I have been to Maui, but one of the towns that sticks out the most in my memories is Paia. I always felt a connection to this small surfer town and feel like it’s a place I could live for a while. Scott has been to Maui, but has yet to explore this unique area, so I can’t wait to experience it with him.

We will be tweeting and sharing Instagram and Facebook photos during our trip, so if you want to follow along, be sure to take note of the hashtag, #SeeMaui. Aloha!

What an awesome itinerary. I can’t wait to do Maui myself someday. Cliff diving is really intense. Are you participating in that or just observing?
